Elderly woman killed in car accident in Texarkana

TEXARKANA, Ark. -

Texarkana Arkansas Police have released the name of an elderly woman who died in a car accident Monday evening.

The accident happened just before 5:00 p.m. on Highway 67 at Sanderson Lane.

According to the accident report, 78 year-old Charles Mitchell and his wife 79 year-old Charlotte, were traveling north on Highway 67 when they attempted to turn left in front of a southbound vehicle. Charlotte Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband, Charles, along with three people in the oncoming vehicle, were all taken to St. Michael's Hospital in Texarkana.

The condition of those injured are unknown.
