Suspect nabbed in 5 robberies in Houston area

Posted: Updated:

A suspect has been arrested in the investigation of five retail robberies in the Houston area -- including four on the same day -- by a man with a knife.

Harris County jail records show 22-year-old Nathaniel Ilagan was being held Thursday on three counts of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. Bond was set at $90,000 for Ilagan, who was arrested Tuesday night outside a Mexican restaurant after a reported robbery attempt.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says deputies on Monday responded to robberies at a convenience store, a dry cleaner, a hair salon and at another dry-cleaning business. An armed man escaped with cash in all four robberies in east Harris County. Authorities did not report anyone hurt.

Online jail records don't list an attorney for Ilagan.
