Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson-A Promise of Hope

Posted: Updated:
MONROE, La. -

"Duck Dynasty" is the most watched reality television show in history. Recently, I drove to Monroe to find out the secret for its success and discovered its in a very old book.

There they were, a bus load of tourist hoping to catch a glimpse of Phil or should I say brother Robertson.

"Absolutely, the best thing is he honors God with everything he does. I think that is the reason for the success. It's what America wants and need honoring God."

Sure enough, almost as soon as he opened his mouth, brother Phil opened his bible. Malichi, and began to share the real reason we are all talking about "Duck Dynasty" and it all goes back to a honky tonk in 1975.

"I was into sex, drugs and rock and roll as they say. At 28, some guy with a bible walked into a beer joint I was running and he wanted to talk it over. I ran him out of the place but my life was going south so at 28 I finally sat down and listened to a story about the man from Galilee."

"It took the blood of Jesus to remove my sex, drugs and rock and roll lifestyle sin. That's the price, I said that's a mighty kind thing to do for a scumbag like me."

"But it wouldn't matter about my sins being removed if something could not be done about the 6 foot hole I headed to and you too."

"So we are all sinners Jesus died on a cross to remove all of them so you can go. I'm guilty no long the price has been paid. Christ coming down in flesh did that. It's actually too wild a story to dream up by humans especially sinful ones."

"Three days later, he proves not only did he have the power to remove my sins but he had the power to energize dead cold flesh so it can stand up on the earth again."

"Because of what Jesus did, the death and resurrection he guarantee's you will live so as Jesus would put it, whoever believes in me will never die. If you're not a believer, the only hope you have is he not be there, that's your hope maybe he's not there, What we say is we trust that he is."

"Phil Robertson is a man of deep faith but he says long before the reality show fame. He was doing well with his duck calls. He gives the credit for that to the Word."
