Evangel star's surprise commitment, LSU-Alabama fallout and other recruiting news

Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, La -

It has been a newsworthy and historic week in the Ark-La-Tex for recruiting.  In our weekly recruiting segment with KTBS recruiting expert Barton Simmons of 247 Sports and Comcast CSS "In The Huddle" program we discuss several bits of recruiting news.

Texas A&M picks up another 4-star defensive player, which Arkansas loses a talented tight end to another school in the SEC.  At the same time, the Razorbacks gain a commitment from an Evangel star who many thought would be headed to LSU.

There were several star players who attended last Saturday's game between LSU and Alabama in Tuscaloosa, including two both teams are recruiting hard.  We discuss the latest on Neville safety Hootie Jones and St. Augustine running back Leonard Fournette.

Simmons also talks about the significance of the new rule which allowed Parkway quarterback Brandon Harris to sign his financial paperwork early, which led to a first-of-its kind visit from Les Miles Monday night.
