SHREVEPORT, La. (KTBS) -

Shreveport Police have arrested a trio of local teens who allegedly broke into a vehicle early Wednesday morning in Shreveport's South Highlands neighborhood.

It happened around 2:00 a.m. in the 500 block of Dudley Drive. Officer Jonathan Varnell says he saw a male suspect holding a tote bag standing near a vehicle with its door open. When Officer Varnell confronted the man, he immediately took off running. After a brief foot chase, the suspect, identified as 18 year-old Jacody Wilson, was taken into custody. Items were recovered that police believe were taken from the vehicle on Dudley Drive.

Moments later, a few blocks away, other patrol officers found 18 year-old Fabian Alexander and 18 year-old Kentravious Hardison. The teens were detained and after further investigation, officers found evidence allegedly linking Alexander and Hardison to the crime as well.

Detectives are still working to determine if the teens are responsible for any other similar crimes in the area.

All three men were booked into the Shreveport City Jail and charged with one count of simple burglary each.
