SHREVEPORT, La. (KTBS) -

Shreveport Police have two suspects in custody after a standoff at a local motel.

Police say they have a black male and a white female in custody. More descriptive characteristics are unavailable at this time.

SWAT team members surrounded the Royal Inn on North Market Street in Shreveport around 8:00 a.m. Wednesday. Around 11:30 a.m. SWAT members found the suspects in room 248 of the motel.

It all started earlier this morning after a series of events that took place around town. Police tell KTBS 3 News that an armed robbery occurred at the Days Inn on Monkhouse Drive in Shreveport around 5:30 a.m. Shortly after the armed robbery, a Hispanic male was shot in the shoulder in the 400 block of Olive Street. Shreveport authorities do believe the suspects taken into custody at the Royal Inn are responsible for the shooting and armed robbery.

Northwest Louisiana Technical College was placed on lockdown as a precaution while police searched for the suspects. We're told that the lockdown has since been lifted.

Fortunately, no one was injured during the apprehension of the suspects.
