SHREVEPORT, La -

A former KTBS 3 Athlete of the Week took advantage of the early national signing day Wednesday and made a little history while doing it.  Southwood's Jalon Stephens signed his letter of intent to join the University of Minnesota's men's gymnastics team.

Stephens is the first male gymnast from the Shreveport area to sign at the Division I collegiate level.  This past summer he competed in the P&G Championships, where he placed first in the vault.
