Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTBS) -

Shreveport City officials met for a budget hearing.

In Saturday's meeting, the fire and police departments let the city know their financial priorities as well as public works and water and sewer. City officials say it's just a step in the process to decide on the City of Shreveport's budget for 2014.

Michael Corbin, city council chairman said, "This is a chance for the council to sit down with each department talk about issues candidly, hear what their needs are so that we can make whatever adjustment to the budget that we need to make."

City council members will be meeting again in December to decide on the budget .
