LSU defense hoping to avoid a gig

Posted: Updated:
BATON ROUGE, La -

When LSU meets Texas A&M on Saturday in Tiger Stadium the team will be facing the top offense in the SEC.  Quarterback Johnny Manziel is having another Heisman-worthy season and among his many weapons is wide receiver Mike Evans, who leads the SEC in touchdown catches.

The Aggie offense was able to score 42 points against Alabama in a loss back in September and will come to Baton Rouge hoping to get what would be a major win in a place it has never been as a member of the SEC.  head coach Les Miles has a lot of confidence in his defense, which will have quite a challenge. "I've got to be honest with you; I like my defense.  I suspect they'll play best in this game," said Miles.  "I think that it will be a challenge to A & M, and I think being in Tiger Stadium will be a challenge to A & M.  It's a much different environment and a place where the home team generally does pretty good."

Miles says the Tigers still have plenty to play for, including another 10-win season, but to get it means winning out, including a bowl game.
