Arrest made in Olive Street Bistro fire

Posted: Updated:

An arrest has been made in the fire that destroyed a Shreveport landmark.

Carl Dollar, 45, faces one count of simple arson. He's accused of burning down Shreveport's Olive Street Bistro, where authorities say he  once worked as a manager.

The fire happened back in September.  At the time, smoke from the fire was so thick hat it set off smoke alarms at the apartments across the street.

Damage from the fire is estimated at more than one million dollars.

Under Louisiana law, anyone convicted of a fire resulting in more than $500 damage can be fined not more than fifteen thousand dollars and imprisoned at hard labor for not less than two
years nor more than fifteen years.
