Cowboys forced to break tradition

Posted: Updated:
Arlington, TX -

The Dallas Cowboys will be without linebackers Sean Lee and Justin Durant for the second straight game with hamstring injuries.  Lee and Durant were ruled out of Thursday's game against Oakland, along with cornerback Morris Claiborne and receiver/kick returner Dwayne Harris.

Claiborne and Harris injured their hamstrings in last week's victory over the New York Giants.   All four players could return when Dallas faces Chicago on Dec. 9. The Cowboys don't play for 10 days after facing the Raiders.

Rookie tight end Gavin Escobar was added to the injury report Wednesday with a hamstring issue and is listed as questionable. The Cowboys have six players with hamstring problems.Linebacker DeVonte Holloman, another rookie, will miss his sixth straight game with a neck injury.

After tomorrow the Cowboys will get some extra rest before playing at Chicago a week from Monday night.  Currently tied with the eagles atop the division, the season finale will be at home against.. Philadelphia.   One new twist on the game with the Raiders; the Cowboys will not be wearing the blue-starred, white helmets they usually wear on Thanksgiving Day.  The NFL has banned teams from wearing alternate helmets during the season because of concussion awareness.  What that has to do with concussion awareness is not known, but the Cowboys will be wearing their traditional blue jerseys with traditional silver helmets with the blue stars.

We've been told by many veterans that they receive quality care at the V.A. hospital in Shreveport. But for some getting an appointment to see their caregivers is the challenge. According to our V.A., they do not have a problem getting patients seen quickly - and the numbers they report echo that conclusion. We’ve uncovered concerns, however, over how their numbers look so good - while patients are still waiting to be seen.“Certainly from my viewpoint here, as a veteran, as a physician, the c...

Ever since allegations that veterans died waiting for care came out of phoenix, we've all been asking, why, and how could an organization aimed at helping our servicemen and women foster an atmosphere where this has gone on for so long?
