LSUS hosts the Paul Millsap Classic

SHREVEPORT, La -

Eight high school basketball teams from across the Arklatex gathered at LSUS today for the 2013 Paul Millsap Classic.  Hoops fans were treated to a great day of basketball action in Shreveport and it all started with Fair Park taking on Grambling.  The teams were deadlocked in the third quarter until a late run by the Kittens pushed them ahead for good, winning 59-53.  Byrd put their undefeated record on the line in game two, taking on the Farmers of Union Parish.  The Jackets made sure every team in the classic knew exactly why they were undefeated, beating Union 83-60 and moving to 5-0 on the year.  The third game featured the Captain Shreve Gators and the North Webster Knights.  Shreve looked just as impressive as their rival Byrd, getting a huge 62-45 win over the Knights.  In the final game of the day Bossier took on Lakeview.  The Bearkats got off to a hot start, thanks to a 7-0 run out of the gates, but the Gators were just too much for Bossier in the end, winning 83-60.
