Grambling players still up beat after back-to-back 1-win seasons

Posted: Updated:
New Orleans, La. -

There may not be another football program in the country who has been through more over a 2 season period than the Grambling Tigers.  The G-men followed up a 2011 SWAC title with back-to-back 1 win seasons.

But this year has been marred by more than just misfortune on the field.  2013 will be most remembered by the firing of head coach and Grambling legend Doug Williams, who was then followed by George Ragsdale who went 0-5 before being reassigned, making way for their 3rd head coach of the season Dennis Winston.

And who can forget the player boycott in October when the team didn't show up for practice or their game against Jackson State, causing the school to forfeit the contest and accrue multiple punishments.  Despite all the turmoil, the players have kept a positive attitude.

Grambling fell to Southern for the second straight year in the Bayou Classic yesterday, ending the season 1-11 and last place in the SWAC.

The Ohio State marching band is moving forward without its director; a day after he was fired they're performing with the Columbus Symphony in what's often considered the band's unofficial season kickoff.
