Winning is an expectation in Daingerfield

Posted: Updated:
Daingerfield, TX -

Daingerfield has a big postseason match-up coming up on Friday.  But the Tigers are used to playing in December.  They've played in the state championship game 4 out of the past 5 years.

And this year's Daingerfield team is no different.  They've rolled through 3 rounds of the playoffs and find themselves facing a familiar foe in the regional final, New Boston.  Daingerfield has won the last 2 postseason meetings with the Lions so they know what it takes to stay strong in the playoffs.  You could just say that's what they've come to expect in Daingerfield.

Daingerfield and New Boston met twice in 2012 as well.  The Lions won the regular season showdown but the Tigers won in the playoffs, only to eventually fall in the state championship game.

Castor high school is one of a handful of local softball teams still alive in the playoffs. Co-head coaches Bill and Joy-Dee Wallace and their Lady Tigers have engineered a 16 game win streak and they think it's the family atmosphere of the small school squad.
