Tenaha faces familiar foe in state semifinals

Posted: Updated:
Tenaha, Tx -

Texas Class 1A powerhouse Teneha is ready to meet Falls City for the second straight year, but hopes to do more than win this one, this year.  Tenaha has been to the pinnacle of Texas high school football before, in fact made back-to-back appearances in the state championship game the last 2 years.

It's the tigers strong senior class of 12 that felt the sting of being runners up last season and now they're hungry to win it all and set their own legacy.  Despite it just being a semifinal game, Coach Ward and the players all believe that Teneha and Falls City are the 2 best teams in Class 1A, and the winner of Friday night's contest will no doubt be the favorite to take the state championship.

Ward believes the defenses will dominate.  Teneha won the state title two years ago, Falls City won it the year before that.  Their rematch is Friday night at 7:30 in Waco.
