Bossier High Senior Project

Posted: Updated:

Over the course of the next few days, high school students in Bossier Parish schools are presenting their end of the year assignments before a panel of judges.

It's not only a requirement to earning a high school diploma and thanks to the senior project program, Chase Rivers  has his sights set on his future aspirations.

This really help me decide because like I said I always loved animals and I wasn't really sure but just being around Dr. Lashner and him being so fun and helpful
just really made me realize that helping animals is really what I want to pursue.

Thursday morning, Airline High School students presented their projects  as a component of the program.

Kelle Ogilvie  with Bossier Parish Schools says the program is an opportunity to showcase each student's abilities in time management.

"This is a different curriculum than what they've been given before.  It gives them a chance to think outside the box for something they are interested in," said Ogilvie

"My senior project was on leather crafting.  I actually made a leather wallet," said student Rachel Smelley.

Bossier Parish Schools implemented the Senior project assignments into the district about 3 years ago.
