He was one of those man that everyone instantly liked.
George Rodrigue the creator of the famous "blue dog" passed away this weekend. And the entire state mourned the loss of a great artist.
You see, "Tiffany" was based on a studio dog that hung around Rodrigue as he painted Cajuns in his studio. He painted her, first as just a small project, then she become bigger and bluer.
He then went on to sale numerous blue dogs some for as much as 65,000 dollars in less than 30 minutes.
Rodrigue didn't know why "Tiffany" became such a hit, but he's glad she did.
So Louisiana mourns the loss of a great artist, but will always remember him as one of the Arklatex's Best.
