What you could buy with Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot

Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTBS) -

Tuesday night's Mega Millions jackpot is close to a record amount--$636 million. If you win and choose the cash option, you're still doing well with $341.2 million.

Mega Million tickets were printing like crazy Tuesday afternoon at Shreveport convenience stores.

For several buyers, the winnings are already designated to purchases.

"I'd try to go buy me a new car," said Rodney Terry and several other people.

How about the car James Bond drove in Goldfinger? A 1964 Aston Martin will only cost you $4,698,600.

"I probably would get me a different home," said William Swearinger.

With $636 million, you can buy a lot of house. Even the President's if it was up for sale.

The White House would cost you a fairly large chunk of change, $320,364,354.

"Of course some trips. I would take some trips," said Brandi Johnson.

How about a trip out of this world?! You and 20 of your friends could be some of the first tourists in space for $4.2 million.

But if you'd rather just your own piece of paradise here on earth, you could buy an island off the coast of Belize for $3.5 million.

But if you're like many of these people, you will just try to help others"

"If the Lord bless me to grab that, I would definitely go straight to St. Jude with it and give them $100 million," said Jason Landry.

"A big chunk of it is going to go to my church," said Christina Curry. "I'm definitely going to pay off some bills and help a lot of people who've helped me over the years."

"I would probably keep working for a little while, and give a lot of it away to charities," said Jeff Fuller. "I think I would do some good with it."

If you haven't bought your ticket yet, you still have some time. The drawing for the $636 million Mega Millions jackpot is at 10pm.
