Santa Claus paid a special visit to the Viking Drive Substation in Bossier City Thursday morning to help Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington and his deputies deliver Christmas presents to 169 needy boys and girls in Bossier Parish as part of Operation Santa Claus. The Bossier Sheriff's Office teams with the Shreveport Police Department, Shreveport Fire Department and Townsquare Media to sign up children in need throughout our area. The law enforcement officers, firefighters and radio celebrities then promote Operation Santa Claus to garner support from the public for toys and monetary donations for the more than 1,000 children throughout Bossier and Caddo Parish in need this Christmas season.
"Our deputies have the privilege of putting smiles on children's faces when they deliver the Christmas presents," said Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington. "But none of this would be possible without the incredible support of our residents, businesses and organizations who gave thousands of gifts and cash donations. Those who gave can know they made a child's Christmas special this year."
