Carly Flynn Morgan

I've always wanted to be a morning news anchor and I'm so happy to do what I love in the Arklatex!

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a graduate of West Virginia University, I come to Shreveport from Chattanooga, Tennessee. There, I produced and anchored the nightly FOX newscast. While in Chattanooga I became familiar with covering severe weather, including the April 2011 tornadoes that killed more than 40 people in the viewing area. I also put on my dancin' shoes to win 3rd place in Dare to Dance, a dance competition raising money for The Kidney Foundation.

I started my career in Macon, Georgia where I was a multimedia journalist and weekend anchor. I covered many memorable stories there, including the bust of a large dog fighting ring. I also got an exclusive interview with one of the last living Munchkins from the Wizard of Oz. My story exposing a diploma mill that gave a G.E.D. to a cat won an Associated Press Broadcast Award.

Although I'm from up north, I love southern weather, food and people! When I'm not working I spend my time reading memoirs, practicing guitar, catching up with my friends and family back home in Pittsburgh and getting outdoors with my dog.

You can see me Monday through Friday mornings on KTBS 3 First News and follow me on Twitter @CarlyFMorgan.
