LSU Senior Strength

Posted: Updated:
Tampa, FL -

LSU lost a school record high 13 juniors to the NFL draft this time last year and the Tigers are expected to have another large number of this season's playmakers make the professional leap.  There may not be as many as last year, but after the Iowa game you could see how much this particular class at LSU made a mark on head coach Les Miles.

Before the Outback Bowl, Miles said the Tigers recent bowl struggles wouldn't affect this group and his Bayou Bengals backed up his claim with a 21-14 win over the Hawkeyes on Wednesday.  Miles said it was because this team, in particular, is really committed to each other.

The Iowa victory marked LSU's 10th win of the 2013 season, which made the senior class the only one in Tiger football history to have four consecutive 10 win campaigns.  But when you're that good, it's no surprise to see your best players leave early.  And it's not always easy to let go for the Mad Hatter.

The Tigers leading rusher Hill still hasn't made his decision on whether or not he'll be leaving for the draft.  Ego Ferguson and Anthony Johnson have already declared but as for Hill, he is reportedly meeting with Miles on Monday about his future and may make an announcement.  LSU's dominant wide receiving tandem of Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry are also expected to declare for the draft Monday.

We've been told by many veterans that they receive quality care at the V.A. hospital in Shreveport. But for some getting an appointment to see their caregivers is the challenge.
