Snow falling in north Ark., cold temps en route

Posted: Updated:

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill warning for parts of Arkansas as the southern edge of an Arctic cold front moves through the state.

The warning goes in effect at midnight Sunday and lasts until noon Monday. It covers counties in northern Arkansas along the Missouri border. Forecasters say that same area could see up to 4 inches of snow on Sunday.

Forecasters say the northern Arkansas counties could see wind chill values at minus 10 degrees or even 20 degrees below zero.

Elsewhere in the state, a wind chill advisory is in effect from midnight Sunday until noon Monday. The advisory area includes Little Rock, Pine Bluff and Hot Springs, and forecasters say those areas could see wind chill values around zero degrees or colder Monday.
