Having a Lott means much to Byrd

Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, La -

Byrd High School is on quite a roll.  The football team made it all the way to the state championship game and now the basketball team looks like it has the kind of talent to do the same.  One player in particular, is getting all sorts of attention.  Chad Lott has offers from LSU, Louisiana Tech and Arizona State.  Considering he's just a junior, there are probably many more to come.  After the championship game of the Bossier Invitational, Orr Academy head coach Louis Adams called the Byrd Guard one of the best players he's ever seen.  While praise is always nice, Lott says it was the experience of playing such a talented team that will help him as he continues his basketball career.  Byrd Head Coach Rusty Johnson says Lott has also taken the next step when it comes to leading his team.  With so many distractions surrounding the guard and the team, Lott says he's just focused on winning the state title.
