93 year-old man dies in East Texas house fire

An early morning house fire has claimed the life of a 93 year-old Smith County man.

It happened just before 3:00 a.m. in the 19000 block of Highway 135 in Arp, Texas.

Smith County Fire Marshal, Jim Seaton, says the home is a total loss. The victim, whose name has not been released, reportedly lived alone in the home after his wife passed.

The fire department is still investigating the cause of the blaze.
