Cullen Fire Department Could Get New Chief Tonight

Posted: Updated:

The Cullen Fire Department could get a new fire chief, this evening.

The fire district's board members are having a meeting tonight.

On the agenda -- They'll likely vote for a new chief.

You may remember last week, volunteers for Webster Parish Fire District 6 turned in their gear and threatened to quit.

Rumors spread, their Chief, Charles Hile was replaced without notice.

A week ago, the parish police jury added two new members and a new chairman to the fire district's board.

Firefighters say the new members ousted Hile and replaced him.

But the board never formally voted on the replacement. so Hile says he'll continue to lead until there's an official decision.
