A local man is now behind bars following his arrest Wednesday morning by Shreveport Police officers.

Just after 8:30 a.m., Shreveport Police officers arrived at a home located in the 400 block of Mayfair Drive relative to executing an arrest warrant. The person sought in connection with the warrant was 18 year old Demarcy Armstrong. Authorities located Armstrong inside the residence, at which time he was taken into custody without incident. Armstrong, who now faces two counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, was wanted in connection with a double shooting that injured two men back on December 30, 2013. During the ongoing investigation, detectives were able to gather information linking Armstrong to the crime.

Authorities believe Armstrong was engaged in the sale or purchase of illegal narcotics when a dispute arose between him and two men who were apparently shot by Armstrong. Following his arrest, Demarcy Armstrong was booked into the Shreveport City Jail. Bond in the matter has been set at 130,000.00
