Road game for Tech will be homecoming for White

Posted: Updated:
RUSTON, La -

Louisiana Tech is off to another strong start, but revealed some tough news Wednesday.  The damage to the left ankle of leading scorer Raheem Appleby is worse than originally feared.

The junior has led the team in scoring in each of his three seasons, just over 16 points per game before getting hurt in last week's Conference-USA opener, but an MRI has revealed ligament damage.  The 6-8 week prognosis is now a best case scenario.  Doctors are still evaluating and could decide on season-ending surgery.

The Bulldogs, 2-and-0 in conference, play at Tulane Thursday night where head coach Michael White's father Kevin was athletic director before moving on to Duke where he is AD now.  White is looking forward to returning to an arena he has not visited in a long time, but is more focused on Tulane and his team remaining unbeaten in conference play.
