SORRENTO, La. (WBRZ) -

A lawsuit filed Friday alleges embattled Sorrento Police Chief Earl Theriot forced a woman in his custody to perform oral sex on him inside the police department.

The suit filed by attorney Tregg Wilson alleges Theriot initially responded to a call about an intoxicated woman on the corner of Airline Highway and LA 22 on Nov. 1st around 1 p.m. The suit said the woman was so drunk, the chief could barely find a pulse.

"By the time Acadian Ambulance had arrived, he had located a pulse, my client was placed into his police unit and brought to another convenience store, Chief Theriot did purchase another bottle of vodka for my client," said Wilson.

The suit goes on to claim Theriot then took the woman back to the police station where he bound her and sexually assaulted her.

"He did actually restrain her with her own belt, had her handcuffed and while this was going on he did force her to perform oral sex," said Wilson.

The suit even alleges Theriot had a meeting with the Mayor of Sorrento while he kept the woman stashed beneath his desk.

"When he left her presence, she did indeed attempt to make a phone call and she was successful in reaching her boyfriend, who called authorities to report the matter," said Wilson.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office confirmed the presence of that recording, but couldn't release it to News 2 because it is currently reviewing the matter. The Sheriff said he hasn't decided if his office will pursue a criminal investigation.

The Investigative Unit attempted to give Theriot a chance to respond to allegations, but after he was approached at a Sorrento diner he refused any comment and drove away in his unit.

"It does indeed shock the conscience, from my standpoint and my client's," said Wilson. "He has in the aftermath, he has repeatedly called and sexual harassed her in the aftermath of this, those calls continuing up until this past week, some four or five calls a day."

Wilson told News 2 those calls were to continue the so-called relationship and said that Theriot offered the woman cash and alcohol in exchange for another rendezvous.

Wilson said his client is currently in treatment for alcoholism.
