Dee Dee always brings her A-game;

Posted: Updated:
VIVIAN, La. -

Ever since the North Caddo girls basketball team lost in last year's state semi finals, the loss has served as motivation.  Well, North Caddo is currently 22-1 and the top-ranked 2-A team in the state of Louisiana.  One of the main reasons why is 4-year starter Dee Dee Sheppard.

Assistant coach Ricky Evans says Sheppard is a true basketball player and when she joined the team as a freshman she was the first "true" basketball player.  He credits Sheppard with building the team in to the winner it is today.

Sheppard herself makes it clear she is all about doing whatever it takes, including helping younger players.

There's no denying that Ledetriha Sheppard, or as everyone calls her: Dee Dee, is the clear leader of the top ranked North Caddo girls basketball team, and it's been that way ever since her freshman year.

Head coach Angela Channel appreciates all Sheppard brings, beyond her play alone.  She too credits Sheppard's leadership.

Sheppard's resume off the court is just about as impressive as on... Dee Dee is a 4.0 student and a member of the National Honor Society as well as many service organizations around North Caddo.  She was also up for student of the year and is headed to McNeese in the fall to play basketball, but more importantly to study elementary education.
