Weather related school/university closures

The latest blast of cold weather has brought not only snow flurries but a few school/university closures to the Arklatex.

KTBS 3 News has confirmed the following: 

LOUISIANA

*Northwestern State University campuses in Natchitoches, Leesville/Fort Polk and Alexandria will be closed Friday due to weather conditions. Caspri avenue (main gate) is the only access point onto NSU. All others are closed because of ice on some roads. NSU officials will open other gates when the ice melts. 

*The Natchitoches Parish School Board has canceled classes for Friday, January 24 due to inclement weather.  

*Red River Parish Schools are closed Friday, January 24.

*The Sabine Parish School Board has canceled classes for Friday, January 24 due to the possibility of inclement weather.

*DeSoto Parish Schools are closed Friday, January 24.

*Riverdale Academy in Red River Parish is closed Friday, January 24.

TEXAS

*Excelsior ISD in Shelby County Texas is closed Friday, January 24.

*Delayed start time for students attending classes at Tenaha ISD. Students are to report at 10 a.m., Friday, January 24. Staff should report at 9:30a.m.

*Delayed start time for students attending classes at Timpson ISD. Students are to report at 10 a.m. Friday, January 24. 

*Panola College Shelby County Center campus closed Friday, January 24. Classes at the Carthage and Marshall campuses will remain in session.

DAYCARE CLOSURES

Salem Christian Learning Center in Stonewall, Louisiana

Tiny Tots Daycare and Preschool in Natchitoches, Louisiana
