Cam Cameron staying at LSU

Posted: Updated:
BATON ROUGE, La -

Cam Cameron says he isn't going anywhere.  LSU's offensive coordinator laid every rumor of his departure to rest today and fast.  Within hours that word spread the Cleveland Browns were interested in interviewing Cameron for the same position, he told LSU Sports Information that he plans on being with the Tigers for a long time.

LSU head coach Les Miles brought in his old friend to take over the purple and gold offense last offseason, and the Tigers had their best passing game in 6 years.  Before taking the job at LSU, Cameron was an NFL assistant and head coach for 19 years.

Money was probably a non-factor.  Cameron made $600,000 last season and he's due $1.3 million in 2014 and $1.5 million in 2015.  LSU also dismissed reports that special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey is a candidate for the same job with the New York Jets.
