Athlete of the Week: Zeek Woodley

Posted: Updated:
NATCHITOCHES, La. -

When Northwestern State guard Zeek Woodley played at Pelican high school, he was a three-time Louisiana Class C Most Outstanding Player.  Midway through his first year in college, he has not missed a beat.

NSU basketball head coach Mike McConathy knew what a talent Woodley was going to be and now that he's in a Demon uniform, it's only confirmed his suspicions.  Right now, Woodley is making an immediate impact on the team.  He ranks 11th in the Southland Conference in scoring, averaging 14.6 points per game, as a freshman.  And because he gets to play so close to home, he has quite the cheering section.

Woodley also keeps a 3.2 GPA. He hopes to get into coaching in the future.
