Texas two step; realignment creates new rivalries

Posted: Updated:
AUSTIN, Texas -

The state of Texas announced realignment on Monday which has moved several east Texas schools to new classes and new districts.  Marshall, Texas High and Hallsville all move from 4A to 5A, but stay in the same district.

Tatum moves from 2A to 4A and joins the same district with Pleasant Grove and Atlanta which make the jump from 3A.

Kilgore and Carthage had both been in different districts of 3A, but now each makes the move to 4A and will play in the same district.
