Shreveport's Moonbot Studios drops new game

Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTBS) -

The creative minds at Moonbot Studios recently launched a new game app called Lollypop 3 and the Eggs of Doom.

It's a free game on Apple Products where you try to catch eggs before they hit the ground and break.

The idea for the game hatched from a process they think could help other companies be successful.

They call it game jams. Moonbot's game developers lock themselves up for a week at work and come up with new ideas. They leave their other work alone for this time so their focus is strictly on creating.

The team bounces the ideas off of each other, building on the best ones and cutting the not so great ones. The good ones are made into a rough prototype. If the prototype passes the test, then Moonbot goes into production mode.

Lollypop came out of a game jam last year. Developers said it took them about eight months to get it launched.

This process of game jams is common through out the gaming industry but could be helpful in others because it allows those participating to have a fresh look on their work.

Developers thought any industry that creates a product could use this method—chefs or even businesses who are trying to re-brand themselves.

Moonbot Studios was created by Shreveport's own William Joyce. It's a place where talented people create fun and entertainment on all different types of media platforms.

We've been told by many veterans that they receive quality care at the V.A. hospital in Shreveport. But for some getting an appointment to see their caregivers is the challenge. According to our V.A., they do not have a problem getting patients seen quickly - and the numbers they report echo that conclusion. We’ve uncovered concerns, however, over how their numbers look so good - while patients are still waiting to be seen.“Certainly from my viewpoint here, as a veteran, as a physician, the c...

So far we've brought you a whistle blower employee, and then, after two weeks of waiting, you heard the official V.A. response. But it's said that there are three sides to every story.“We're not challenged for access at Overton Brooks, we can provide same day access, that's why we're encouraging same day access, that's why we're encouraging veterans to enroll into our system.” Those are the words from Interim Director at Overton Brooks V.A. Ever since allegations that veterans died waiting for care came out of phoenix, we've all been asking, why, and how could an organization aimed at helping our servicemen and women foster an atmosphere where this has gone on for so long?
