Two Texarkana men were arrested accused of stealing a flatbed truck.

It happened back on Saturday around 10:30 p.m. when Texarkana Texas Police were called to the 900 block of East Loop Drive.

When officers arrived at the local truck dealership in reference to a possible vehicle theft, a witness told them he saw a truck run through a gate. After making talking to a representative of the dealership, officers were able to get a description of the truck that had been stolen.

Around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, Officer Micah Brower made a traffic stop on the stolen vehicle at the intersection of Waco Street and Kilgore Street. The driver, Christopher May, 22, and passenger, Rocky McIlhargey, 20, got out of the vehicles and ran off. Both were caught after a brief foot chase. May and McIlhargey were both charged with theft over 20,000 and evading arrest on foot.

Anyone with information on this or any other crime is asked to call the Texarkana Texas Police Department at 903-798-3116 or Crime Stoppers at 903-792-STOP (7867).
