Alasaundria Avery was arrested back in 2011 and charged with Second Degree Murder in the beating death of her daughter, Denise. Sources close to the investigation say Avery admitted to beating her child because she wouldn't stop crying and investigators told KTBS 3 News that the mother showed very little remorse when it came to her daughter's death. Little Denise had celebrated her 1st birthday just weeks before she was beaten to death.

On Thursday, Judge Katherine Dorroh heard testimonies from probation officers, family members, a medical doctor and police officers. Sentencing for Avery was continued to give Judge Dorroh time to consider the testimonies.

Avery's sentencing has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 25.
