Rivers headed elsewhere

Posted: Updated:
BATON ROUGE, La -

LSU is loosing one of their quarterbacks at the end of the semester.  Stephen Rivers is set to transfer after he graduates in May.  But the 6 foot 8 quarterback is a third year sophomore so he still has 2 more years of eligibility.

The only time we've ever seen Rivers in action was during the spring game and although he hasn't narrowed down the lists of schools he's interested in, immediate playing time will be a factor in his choice.  Rivers said he will also enlist the help of his San Diego Chargers Q-B and brother, Phillip.  Stephen Rivers was the third string this past season behind Zach Mettenberger and Anthony Jennings.

There was plenty of talk concerning the youth on LSU's roster coming into the season. While they did grab a win in week one against Wisconsin, Saturday night's matchup was just proof that the Tigers are a work in progress
