Arch madness; Archery tournament heads to the Arklatex

Posted: Updated:
Benton, La. -

Some of the best archers in the nation made their way to the Arklatex Friday to compete in the Regions Archery Pro-Am Tournament.  It's a weekend long event taking place at Cypress Black Bayou Park and Recreation Area in Benton.  Archers of all ages will face off in competitions to prove who has the best shot.

While it may not get as much publicity, archery is a fast growing sport in the nation.  Many competitors at the tournament believe it's because the sport is accessible to anyone, regardless of age or gender.  To some archers it's become much more, a way of life.  The Rhodes family says they travel across the country all year competing in archery tournaments.  "It's what we do" says Jason Rhodes.

The tournament wraps up Sunday, February 23.
