Rebels with a Cause

VIVIAN, La. -

The Louisiana high school basketball playoffs continue Tuesday night with some second round action.  The class 2A 28th seed North Caddo pulled off a remarkable upset of No. 5 Opelousas Catholic, 59-47.  But as KTBS' Alex Anderson shows us there was one point the Rebels weren't sure they could be this good.

North Caddo is the only Caddo Parish team still alive in the boys basketball playoffs and it may not have been possible without a little help from the Rebel football squad.  The Rebels say their new additions bring a kind of toughness that only football players can bring to the basketball court. The decision to take their talents to the basketball court wasn't a difficult one for these new two sport athletes, thanks in large part to the family mentality in the small town of Vivian.

North Caddo hosts Doyle Tuesday night at 6:30.
