Victim identified in deadly Bossier City shooting, suspect in custody

BOSSIER CITY, La -

Bossier City police are investigating the fatal shooting of man that happened Monday night during an argument at a local mobile home park.

Police were call to the Pepper Point Mobile Home Park in the 6000 block of East Texas Street around 11:15 p.m. Monday in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived on the scene they found the victim, 37 year-old Danny Earl Litton Jr., lying in the street in front of a residence with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Officers immediately performed CPR on Litton until Bossier City Fire Department personnel got to the scene. The victim was taken to University Health in Shreveport where he was pronounced dead.

A little over an hour later the suspect, 27 year-old Christopher Brandon Phillips, turned himself in to police at BCPD headquarters. Phillips was arrested for second degree murder and booked into the Bossier City Jail.

The shooting remains under investigation.
