CPSB moves toward unity

Posted: Updated:

The Caddo Parish School board moved forward with a vote to Keep a majority of its members silent.

Although the measure received mixed reviews from some members.
School board President Carl Pierson said that there are no real consequences in place if board members violate the policy.
He also noted  the measure is to prevent board members from portraying a negative image to the public, which would be considered detrimental to the school board as a whole.

"There is really no penalty for not abiding by it . It's not meant to have a penalty.   What it is meant to do is give us an idea about how we are supposed to act and how we are supposed to present our selves to the public," said Pierson Sr.

Shreveport Pastor Larry Brandon plans for the area's first all boys charter school was denied by the board. Brandon could not bring forward the necessary conditions with regards to the buildings or budget to satisfy the board.
