SHREVEPORT, La. (KTBS) -

One Shreveport lady is left shaken after a train hit the front end of her vehicle.

It happened just before 9:30 a.m. Wednesday on Claiborne Avenue near Mansfield Road. Shreveport Police tell KTBS 3 News that the driver, 60 year-old Judy Henderson, drove her white 1999 GMC Sierra pick-up truck into the path of an oncoming Union Pacific train in apparent attempts to beat the moving train across the tracks.

While police say there were no crossing arms at the crossing, all emergency warning devices seemed to be fully operable at the time of the accident.

The train was traveling at 25 mph when it went into full emergency brake mode but was still unable to avoid hitting Henderson's vehicle. Henderson, who is likely to face citations in the accident, was taken to University Medical Center for treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
