Amnesty Day, hundreds avoid getting arrested

Posted: Updated:

Well, if you have any trouble with the Shreveport City Court, Saturday was the day to get it cleared up.

Shreveport City Marshal's Office held the 6th Annual Amnesty Day. The office extended its hours into the weekend and was open from eight to five. This gave individuals with outstanding warrants, fines and other offenses a chance to 'fulfill their obligations' without fear of getting arrested. Around 300 people took advantage of the amnesty during the day's first four hours.
