It happened just before 8:00pm last night, Shreveport Police were called to the University Health Medical Center relative to a man who arrived in the hospital's emergency room suffering a gunshot wound to the hand.

The man was identified as 17 year old Jaderric Curry. Curry's injuries were described as non-life threatening and a full recovery is expected.

In speaking with Curry, officers learned he was walking on St.Vincent Avenue near West 63rd Street when reportedly, two men in their early twenties, wearing all dark clothing approached him, with one of the men armed with a handgun. The armed man reportedly fired multiple shots at Curry striking him in the hand. Following the shooting, both suspects fled the scene of the crime on foot. The suspects, who may have had intentions to rob Curry, remain outstanding at this hour.

We've been told by many veterans that they receive quality care at the V.A. hospital in Shreveport. But for some getting an appointment to see their caregivers is the challenge.
