BOSSIER PARISH, La. (KTBS) -

A sanity hearing is schedule for accused wife killer—Robert Bond—this week. He is set to go before a Bossier Parish judge Tuesday morning.

The results of this sanity hearing will determine whether or not Bond is mentally stable to stand a trial. The 53 year old entered a "not guilty" plea to the second degree murder charge in his wife's murder case.

Annie Bond was reported missing November 14th after she did not show up for work. Her car was still at her Bossier Parish home. Authorities searched the residence and found what they believed to be drops of blood on the driveway.

The next day, Robert Bond was spotted in Mississippi. When police approached the vehicle he was in, Bond shot himself in the head. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The search for Annie continued for four more days. On November 18th, authorities found charred human remains in Webster Parish. They were identified as those of Annie Bond two days later.

In the mean time, Robert Bond recovered in a south Mississippi hospital. He was arrested and charged with second degree murder as soon as he was released in December.

Bond was then extradited back to Bossier Parish on December 12th. His bond was set at $1 million.

In January, Bond pleaded not guilty, but reserved the right to change that pending the sanity hearing.

That hearing is set for Tuesday morning at the Bossier Parish Court House.

We've been told by many veterans that they receive quality care at the V.A. hospital in Shreveport. But for some getting an appointment to see their caregivers is the challenge. According to our V.A., they do not have a problem getting patients seen quickly - and the numbers they report echo that conclusion. We’ve uncovered concerns, however, over how their numbers look so good - while patients are still waiting to be seen.“Certainly from my viewpoint here, as a veteran, as a physician, the c...

Ever since allegations that veterans died waiting for care came out of phoenix, we've all been asking, why, and how could an organization aimed at helping our servicemen and women foster an atmosphere where this has gone on for so long?
