School of bartending for veterans comes to Bossier

Posted: Updated:
BOSSIER CITY, La -

Beverage Management Services, North Augusta, South Carolina, announces the creation of the first "School of Bartending for Veterans".

The one-week course will be held May 12-16  at Holiday Lanes, 3316 Old Minden Road, Bossier City, LA from 12 – 3 PM.

The School is a one-week "mobile" bartender training course that teaches all aspects of learning basic bartending skills.  Bob Johnson, owner of Beverage Management Services, teaches the course.

Bob has been a bartending instructor for over 30 years and today works as a bar management consultant to numerous nightclub/bars throughout the country.  He is the author of several bar management books and is a featured columnist for nightclub/bar magazines.

Bob, himself a Vietnam Veteran, decided to do something to help the Vets returning from America's never-ending wars.  He created this course specifically for unemployed Vets to give them a skill so they can find work in any part of the country.

For more information about the School, go to Bob's web page "BobTheBarGuy.com", and click on "School of Bartending for Veterans".

To register for this program, e-mail Bob at "bjbarhop.com" and request an Application form.  It will be e-mailed to you.  Veterans applying should be recently discharged and looking for work.

We've been told by many veterans that they receive quality care at the V.A. hospital in Shreveport. But for some getting an appointment to see their caregivers is the challenge. According to our V.A., they do not have a problem getting patients seen quickly - and the numbers they report echo that conclusion. We’ve uncovered concerns, however, over how their numbers look so good - while patients are still waiting to be seen.“Certainly from my viewpoint here, as a veteran, as a physician, the c...

But it's said that there are three sides to every story.“We're not challenged for access at Overton Brooks, we can provide same day access, that's why we're encouraging same day access, that's why we're encouraging veterans to enroll into our system.” Those are the words from Interim Director at Overton Brooks V.A.
