Rangers open at home vs Phillies in Lee's return

Posted: Updated:
Arlington, TX -

Philadelphia Phillies starter Cliff Lee is going back to the Texas for the first time since he pitched there for the Rangers in the 2010 World Series.

Lee starts Monday in an interleague season opener against the Rangers. After taking part in the Rangers' first World Series, he turned down a free-agent deal from Texas go to back to Philadelphia.

Texas sends first-time starter Tanner Scheppers to the mound instead of Yu Darvish, the ace is on the disabled list because of neck stiffness. Scheppers, a converted reliever, will be the first pitcher to make his first major league start in a season opener since Fernando Valenzuela in 1981 for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Rangers lineup looks different with Shin-Soo Choo leading off and slugger Prince Fielder batting third.
