One of thetop free agents left on the NFL market paid a visit to the Saints Tuesday.Veteran cornerback Champ Bailey who was recently released by the Broncos in asalary cap move. Bailey is a 15-year veteranand 12-time Pro Bowler.
Saintscorner Keenan Lewis posted a picture on Instagram letting everyone know he'd begood if Bailey would sign. Word is Bailey plans to make one more trip Wednesday,"if" he doesn't get a deal done with the Saints.
The team alsore-signs linebacker Parys Haralson to a one year contract. Haralson returns to New Orleans after he was acquired by theclub in a trade from the San Francisco 49ers near the end of the 2013preseason. Haralson appeared in all 16 regular season games with eight startsat outside linebacker and recorded 35 tackles (16 solo), 3.5 sacks and one passdefensed.
The 6-0, 255 pounderoriginally entered the NFL as a fifth round draft pick (140th overall) of the 49ers in 2006 out ofthe University of Tennessee. In eight seasons, Haralson has appeared in 102career games with 76 starts and posted career totals of 330 tackles (186 solo),25 sacks, five passes defensed, three forced fumbles, four fumble recoveriesand 24 special teams stops.
As a collegian atTennessee, the Flora, Miss. native who prepped at Madison Central (Miss.) HighSchool was a three-year starter on the defensive line, finishing his careerranked fifth in school history with 21 sacks. He started his entire seniorseason at left defensive end and earned second-team All-SEC by the Associated Press after recording 45 tackles, threeforced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and 8.5 sacks.
