Posted: Updated:

Bossier City Firefighters Local 1051 will hold the 4rd Annual Vernon Gobert Memorial MDA Golf Tournament today at Old Oakes Golf Course, 60 Golf Club Drive in Haughton.

The tourney will be a 4-player scramble and cost $100 per player. All of the proceeds will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association as part of the Bossier City Fire Department's commitment to help find a cure for neuromuscular disease.

The tournament will feature a fish fry for all participants beginning at 11 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Refreshments will also be provided along with numerous door prizes.

The annual tournament is held in memory of Bossier City firefighter Vernon Gobert (pronounced "Go-Bert") who passed away in 2007 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.

For more information about the tournament or to register, contact Chris Morgan at (318) 294-6168 or Jason Shelton at (318) 469-5101.
