DENHAM SPRINGS, La. -

A Denham Springs man has been put behind bars accused of multiple sex crimes against children.

44-year-old Giles Frederick Thibodeaux, Jr, was arrested Wednesday and charged with the production of child pornography, computer-aided solicitation of a minor, indecent behavior with juveniles, oral sexual battery and simple rape in Ascension Parish.

The arrest comes as a result of a joint investigation involving the Attorney General's Cyber Crime and Fugitive Apprehension Units, Louisiana State Police, Homeland Security Investigations, Federal Bureau of Investigations, St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office, Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office, Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office and the United States Secret Service.

Louisiana State Police apprehended Thibodeaux at his home and booked him into the Livingston Parish Jail as a fugitive from the Attorney General's Office. Investigators with the Attorney General's Cyber Crime Unit executed a search warrant on Thibodeaux's residence before transporting him to the Ascension Parish Jail to face the numerous sex crime charges. As the investigation continues, additional charges are possible.

"As this investigation unfolds, it is possible that we may identify additional victims," says John Bosco, Deputy Director of the Attorney General's Investigations Division. Anyone with information regarding other possible victims should contact the LADOJ Cyber Crime Unit at1-800-256-4506.

As internet crimes escalate, Attorney General Buddy Caldwell is allocating resources to vigorously monitor, arrest, and prosecute online child predators. The Attorney General's Cyber Crime Unit has investigated thousands of computer crimes which have victimized children from infants to 17 years of age.
